For the Year of The Dragon, Kostume Kult’s 2024 playa pendant celebrates these magical creatures in this fantastical place.

An annual tradition, KK pendants are meant as gifts for your most special friends or the lovely strangers you encounter in your playa adventures.

Made with a mix of granulated brass and poly-resins to have that metallic look with an antiqued brass finish and a lighter feel while still being solid pieces that pass the “hammer test”. Measuring ~1.65″w x 1.25″h, each come packaged with satin nylon twine in small ziplock baggies for easy gifting.

Sold in packs of 5 for $25 or twenty for $90, at the cost to produce, these will be available in kamp. Inquire with Leonara in Sundream Pod or Costume Jim.

INSPIRATION

Dragons have long roamed the playa in the form of art cars, installation art and costumery, and, in this Dragon Year, we zoom in with inspiration from the end of “The Hobbit, and Unexpected Journey” when the Dragon Smaug awakens, after long dormancy, annoyed by interloping treasure seekers, ready to wreak havoc.

Sharing long histories of dragon mania, the Dragon’s Eye was designed carved, cast and finished by Brooklyn artist Lucey bringing to life Costume Jim’s vision.
