This year’s playa pendant is a beacon of free costumery and firey fun…

A symbolic “passing of the torch” to next generations of burners. Come ‘n get’em kiddies!

These clunky metal pendants are 2.5″ tall cast in nickel plated zinc (like every year) with an antiqued copper torch and golden flame, corded in baggies, for easiest playa gifting.

Sold at cost in packs of five for $40 (+ $2 transaction fee) or twenty for $140 (+ $5 transaction fee).

The pendants will be delivered in NYC early August.
Can be picked up in NYC or at KK Camp at Burning Man.

INSPIRATIONS

As a NY based arts collective, Kostume Kult has always been a beacon of burner values and NYC gumption. With a first draft on last year’s “Burn Free” NYC Halloween Parade float, this idea springs from the foundational values of our community and country.

The original Statue of Liberty is giant steel construction skinned in hammered copper sheets (the thickness of only two pennies!) whose torch (replaced in 1986 during its centennial restoration) has a copper flame covered in 24K gold. Just like ours! 😉

WHEN-WHERE?

The pendants will be delivered in NYC early August to be picked up in NYC or on-playa.

ARTISTS

Costume Jim’s idea/art direction with 3D design by Benjamin Planche (a collab between a New Yorker and a Frenchman – just like the original!!) based on art from our 2022 NYC Halloween Parade float (contributors Sal Chen, KJ Bowen and Tom Egan).
