Lucifer the Lightbringer is out to reclaim his good name. Born a fun-loving Pagan and misrepresented throughout history, El Diablo is sick of the blame-game and is putting his hoof down. For this annual Spring Bacchanal, join the Dark Prince’s demon-satyrs, familiars and hell hounds for this absurdist, artistic coming-out party. At Horned Ball, all horns are welcome but, for this year’s theme, consider the many horned deities, the fantastical nature of all religious mythos and how “Lightbringer” is a common term used by many faiths going back to ancient times. Bring your lights!

ABOUT HORNED BALL & KOSTUME KULT
Horned Ball is the longest running event of Kostume Kult (Costume Cultural Society), a non-profit arts org supporting costume art, street theater and big fun while bringing wonderful people together. Horned Ball #18 is a fantastical springtime event where the animals shake off winter slumber with much art, interactive activities, DJs and dancing in multiple rooms. All KK events are participatory theater where the guests are the players and where we take any artistic license that makes things more fun or ridiculous. ABOUT THE FLYER
This flyer and theme was inspired by a yoga class at The Satanic Temple in Salem MA where we learned about this non-theistic, national advocacy organization that fights for religious liberty, women’s & LGBTQ rights and against corrupt authority while mercilessly trolling intransigent religious groups. The central figure on the flyer is Baphomet, an ancient pagan god of wisdom who along with Pan, Satan, Lucifer and others, was merged into the judeo-christian boogeyman, all providing us with rich inspiration for our brand of absurdist culture jamming utilizing much artistic license to make things more fun (your understandings may vary!).
