For this midsummer night, we journey back to a time when kings, queens, and nobles ruled the land but where the wisest person in the room was often the Fool, the one character who could freely speak truth to power. Come participate at the legendary House of Yes, with multiple rooms, two dancefloors and many sideshows. Step right this way for a celebration of our shared humanity and freakkiness!

THEME

At FreaKKshow, we’ve always celebrated society’s outsiders, artists, dreamers, weirdos, and wonderfully unconventional characters. This year we honor the original freaks: the jesters, fools, tricksters, carnival performers, court oddities, wandering players, and colorful mischief-makers who turn laughter into magic. As always, all forms of Circus, Dark Carnival or Playa Style dress are encouraged.

FreaKKshow #18 is Kostume Kult’s annual summertime dark carnival fundraiser, blending circus, costume, nightlife, and Burning Man-inspired creativity shortly before the road to playa begins. FreaKKshow has long been a semi-regular collaboration between Kostume Kult and House of Yes, rooted in shared histories of radical self-expression, community art, and participatory spectacle.
