Kostume Kult Community Code of Conduct

True to Burning Man’s 10 Principles, Kostume Kult is an inclusive community that fosters creativity, participation, and respect. Our CoC applies to all behavior, whether at events or in online spaces. To ensure a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment, we ask all members to follow these guidelines:

  1. Radical Inclusion
We welcome all people into our community, embracing diversity in background, identity, and experience. Whether in person or online, everyone is encouraged to participate, share, and create.
  2. Respect Boundaries
Respect others’ physical, emotional, and personal boundaries. This includes asking for consent before engaging in any form of interaction, such as photographing, touching, or flirting—both at events and online. Always ask first.
  3. Safety and Privacy
Whether interacting in person or online, respect others’ privacy. Do not share personal details, photos, or conversations without permission. Protect the confidentiality and safety of your fellow community members at all times.
  4. Ask First Before Sharing
When sharing photos or videos from events or conversations, always ask for consent from the people involved. This applies to both physical spaces and digital platforms, including social media and group chats.
  5. Respectful Communication
Communicate thoughtfully and respectfully. Whether in disagreement or casual conversation, avoid inflammatory language, personal attacks, or any form of hate speech. Constructive engagement is encouraged, while harassment will not be tolerated.
  6. Radical Self-Expression
We encourage creativity and self-expression, in line with the values of Burning Man. Feel free to express yourself but be mindful of how your expression may impact others and respect community guidelines in all settings.
  7. Civic Responsibility
Take responsibility for your actions. Whether attending an event or participating online, make sure your contributions enhance the community experience and uphold our shared values. Respect the space and the people within it.
  8. No Unwanted Promotion or Spam
Keep community spaces free from unsolicited promotions or spam. This includes in-person activities and digital platforms—focus on meaningful participation rather than personal promotion.
  9. Accountability
All members are responsible for adhering to this Code of Conduct. Violations, whether online or offline, may result in warnings, removal from community spaces, or bans, depending on the severity of the issue. Admins will address any concerns promptly.
  10. Creating Safer Spaces
While no space can be entirely safe, we are committed to fostering safer spaces where everyone feels welcomed and respected. If you witness or experience behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it to the admin team, and it will be addressed appropriately.
